The provisions of this notice will apply to former clients of Redwood Mortgage and our Affiliates as well as current clients of Redwood Mortgage and our Affiliates unless we state otherwise.

Our Policies and Practices to Protect Your Nonpublic Personal Information

We protect nonpublic personal information we collect about you. We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to those employees and third parties who need to know that information in order to provide products or services that you request. We also maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards in order to guard your nonpublic personal information.

As a current client, you can rely on our Privacy Promise for Consumers that we follow. It is contained in this notice.

Categories of Nonpublic Personal Information we Collect

The nonpublic personal information we collect about you comes from and includes the following:

● Information we receive from you on applications or other forms, such as name, address, social security number, telephone number, occupation, assets and income;
● Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates, or nonaffiliated third parties, such as account balances, payment history, and account activity.
● Information we receive from a consumer reporting agency, such as your credit bureau report and other information relating to your credit worthiness; and
● Information we receive about you from other sources, such as your employer and other third parties.

Categories of Nonpublic Personal Information we may Disclose

We may disclose any of the above information that we collect to Affiliates and nonaffiliated third parties as described below.

Categories of Affiliates to Whom we may Disclose Personal Information

Our Affiliates are companies that controlled by or related to us. Our Affiliates are listed above, and operate in various lines of business, including real estate, mortgage brokerage, mortgage banking, consumer finance and securities. We may share all four types of nonpublic personal information about you that we collect with our Affiliates.

Categories of Nonaffiliated Third Parties to Whom we may Disclose Personal Information

Nonaffiliated third parties are those that are not part of our family of companies controlled by or related to us. We may disclose nonpublic personal information about you to the following types of nonaffiliated third parties:

  • Financial service providers, such as mortgage bankers and securities broker-dealers, trust companies, banks, title companies, insurers, appraiser and service companies and lenders.

We will only make disclosures to such nonaffiliated third parties in the following circumstances. Second, we may disclose nonpublic personal information about you to third parties as permitted by law, including disclosures necessary to process and service your account, to protect against fraud, and to protect the security or confidentiality of our records.

Our Policies and Practices to Protect Nonpublic Personal Information of our Former Customers

Our policies and practices regarding the collection and disclosure of nonpublic personal information about former customers are the same as those regarding our existing customers, for a period of time after the customer relationship ends. Our information about former customers, however, is used less and less over time after the relationship ends and eventually is removed from our records.

Privacy Promise for Consumers

Privacy and client date security have always been of paramount concern to us. While information is essential to our ability to provide superior service and appropriate product offerings to you, we also believe your trust in our handling of that information is one of our most important assets.

Client confidentiality is the cornerstone of our business. We have established a process to manage the security of your information. To that end, we have put into place a Privacy Promise for Consumers (the “Promise”).

We prepared this notice to let you know what the Promise and privacy mean for you as one of our clients and to help you understand what information we collect, how we protect it, and the circumstances under which we disclose it.

Information We Collect

Clients expect us to know who they are when they call us for service. We collect and use information in order to help us meet those expectations and to serve their individual needs better. What’s more, we use that information to tailor our product and service offerings to different client needs and to enable us to extend those offers at appropriate times in their lives. At the same time, by maintaining information, we eliminate the inconvenience of requiring clients to supply us with the same data over and over again. In addition, we collect and use information to meet legal and regulatory standards (e.g., “Know Your Customer” requirements) and to operate prudently (e.g., managing credit risk).

We limit the collection and use of client information to that which we require to understand our clients’ needs, to deliver superior service to our clients (which includes advising our clients about products and services available through us) and to administer our business. We collect nonpublic personal information about clients from applications, other forms or documentation, clients’ transactions or communications with us, and from our Affiliates or nonaffiliated third parties, such as credit bureaus and personal references.

Protecting Your Information

We safeguard any information our client share with us according to standards of security and confidentiality. We permit only authorized employees to have access to that information. We invest in them by communicating the importance of privacy and how best to handle and manage client data appropriately and securely. Employees who violate our privacy policies will be subject to our normal disciplinary process.

We will not reveal client information to any outside organization unless we have previously been requested or authorized by the client, informed the client in disclosures or agreements, or are required by law. Whenever we hire outside organizations to provide support services, we will require them to conform to our privacy standards. Again, confidentiality is the cornerstone of mortgage banking and we never share client information with outside organizations for marketing purposes without client authorization.

Information we Disclose

For purposes of credit reporting, verification and risk management, to the extent we are permitted or required to do so, we will exchange information about our clients with reputable reference sources and clearinghouse services (e.g., credit reporting agencies). We do not disclose nonpublic personal information about our clients or former clients to anyone, except to bring them products and services available through us which they have requested or as permitted or required by law.

Updating your Information

We attempt to keep client files complete, up-to-date and accurate. For information on how and where to conveniently access your account information and how to notify us about changes or errors (which we will promptly correct), or if you have any questions about any of the above information, please call (650) 365-5341.
